 Fellowship and Forgiveness

1 John 1:6-7

If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. 


Encouragement and Warning 

1 John 2:15-17

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world-the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does-comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the Will of God lives forever.


I was lead to the two passages which emphasize our spiritual need to stay focused on Jesus. I praise God for giving me the strength to overcome the evil one. Keep my mind on Jesus. The world, the flesh and the devil are the three foes we have to fight daily. There is no rest from that. We fellowship and forgive and we encourage and warn each other.  L uke 8:11-15 New International Version 11  “This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God.  12  Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.   13  Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away.  14  The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature.   15  But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.
